Alpha Particle Decay Kinematics

The alpha particle decay is NOT due to quantum mechanical tunneling, rather the two protons and two neutrons exist in nuclei as the prealpha shown in the left panel. The prealpha changing into an alpha particle gives the resultant new energy of 11.396 MeV and if this new energy is enough to replace the missing mass energy binding the prealpha in the nucleus, then an alpha particle is expelled.

The postulated quantum mechanical tunneling mechanism of wavefunctions, and square wells for alpha particle decay is thus shown to be false, it is the new atomic energy produced by the rearrangement of nucleons into the right hand panel alpha particle that forces the alpha particle to decay.
